next steps..

while the next board s getting pressed, we re thinking bout the next steps for our 'skateboard brand';) we try to create a logo..what turns out to be way more difficult than expected (!!) especially since we don t really agree;). But I still hope my man can make uo his mind one day;) ..till then we keep brainstorming with everyone we meet:D

new boards in production

this year our focus is on trying to get a nice nose and tail. We tried this the last year already, we had a pretty nice nose and tail already but a huge concave. So this year we finally managed to get it right and to build the whole press a little more stable and exact.

first shape of the year is a cruiser (33 inch length/ 9.4 inch width)

still alot of work to do on this one..

the second board 'pikku hiiri' we made for our friend Leandra. She wished for a board to dance and freeride with nose/tail (and as light as possible)

We re pretty happy with the result:) she wanted to get the feeling of riding on what you did yourself, so she s doing the sanding and the design at the moment. 

I m very excited to see the end result!

the next two boards are already in planing.. first we remake the same shape again and then we try to make a 'street-surfboard-cruiser' with a fish tail.

as soon as we get the wood we can start :))

Vor dem DIY-Longboard Projekt habe ich nur wenige Male gezeichnet (und das höchstens auf Geburi-Karten oder so). Da ich aber nicht sehr geduldig bin und es kaum erwarten konnte das Deck zu testen, hab ich es dann einfach mal versucht mit dem Deck-Design. Jetzt muss ich sagen - meine lieblings 'Arbeit' vom ganzen Projekt! Irgendetwas zwischen Psychotherapie, Inspiration und Entspannung. Meistens läuft bei mir sonst eine Serie oder Musik im Hintergrund, gleichzeitig lerne ich und dass meistens noch mit Whats app auf Hochtouren. Während dem Zeichnen auf Oskari habe ich mich meistens an einen ruhigen Ort gesetzt und so Stunden verbracht. Alles rundherum hab ich ganz ausgeschalten und mich nur auf meine Gedanken und das Zeichen konzentriert. Man könnte fast sagen ein Hirn-time-out oder ein verdammt günstigen Psychiater.

Mittlerweile setz ich mich an ein Gekribbel, sobald der Tag etwas laut oder der Kopf etwas voll ist. (Ausser bei trockenen Strassen! dann stell ich mich zuerst auf Oskari;))

Der einzige Grund weshalb ich vor Oski nie gezeichnet/gemalt habe ist nur weil ich nicht dachte das ich es 'könnte' oder gut wär - jetzt hab ich gemerkt: spielt keine Rolle! sieht ja keiner (ausser man stellt es auf einen Blog) aber es tut gut, macht mir Freude und inspiriert.

Im letzen Sommer hab ich mich total ins Longboarden verliebt. Da ich mir eigentlich gar keins leisten konnte, hab ich mich entschieden eins zu bauen. Ich bin aber eigentlich gr nicht talentiert wenn es um handwerkliche Arbeiten geht.

Dank youtube.com und internet-Tipps, hab ich mich dann doch getraut es einfach mal zu versuchen.

Als ich es endlich geschafft hatte meinen Freund zu überzeugen mir zu helfen anstatt mich auszulachen, lief alles wie am Schnürrchen. Mit dem Ergebniss bin ich mehr als zufrieden und würde 'oskari' nicht mehr mit dem teuersten der teueren Decks tauschen!:)

Die Idee kam aus reinem Nutzen - ein Longboard trotz kleinem Budget. Schlussendlich war es eine super Zeit und ich würde es jedem empfehlen! Es rollt sich einfach verdammt gut auf dem eigenen Brett!;)
